Read Titanlord in the author's order: Of Death & Sacrifice, then A Thousand Ashes, then The Weeping Titan, then Child of Prophecy. The prequel sits third by design: it is written as a revelation, not an introduction.

This is the order printed in the front of Child of Prophecy, and it is the one I will argue about. Book 1, then Book 2, then The Weeping Titan, then Book 3. The prequel is a little over nine thousand words set three thousand years before anything else in the saga. Read it first and it is a decent little tragedy about a king and a Titan. Read it third and it is a knife. Every page of it answers something you will have been carrying for two books, and the last one changes what you think Book 3 is even about. That is the whole design. Please do not open the box early.

This is the order printed in the front of Child of Prophecy, and it is the one I will argue about. Book 1, then Book 2, then The Weeping Titan, then Book 3. The prequel is a little over nine thousand words set three thousand years before anything else in the saga. Read it first and it is a decent little tragedy about a king and a Titan. Read it third and it is a knife. Every page of it answers something you will have been carrying for two books, and the last one changes what you think Book 3 is even about. That is the whole design. Please do not open the box early.

Publication order
This is the order the books went on sale, and there is nothing wrong with it. Of Death & Sacrifice in 2018, A Thousand Ashes in 2020, Child of Prophecy in 2023, with The Weeping Titan arriving as a Kindle novelette around the same stretch as the third book. If you want the saga the way the first readers got it, with the same gaps and the same bad guesses in between, take it like this. You will meet the prequel late either way. The only thing this order really costs you is that it leaves the prequel floating loose next to Book 3 instead of landing where I built it to land, which is just before it.
If you insist on chronological order
If you want the world in the order it happened, start with The Weeping Titan in 3299 B.D. and then jump some three thousand years to the trilogy. I understand the impulse. Here is the bill. The prequel was written to be a revelation, so reading it first turns the saga's biggest answer into its opening scene. A name that is supposed to land like a hammer in Book 3 becomes just a name you already know. A thing happens to a Titan in Part 10 that is supposed to explain what is happening to somebody you love, except you have not met him yet, so it explains nothing and costs nothing. This is the most informative order and the least devastating one. Your call. I have told you.
The saga gives two deep-time figures, 3,299 years before the Descent and roughly 3,000 years for the severing at Hollow Land, and never equates them. Keep the site's wording hedged at some three thousand years. Source: Notion wiki, Master Timeline.

Of Death & Sacrifice runs about 74,500 words across a prologue, sixteen chapters and an epilogue. A Thousand Ashes runs about 55,500 words across a prologue and thirty-three chapters. Child of Prophecy runs about 54,500 words across a prologue and fifty chapters. The Weeping Titan is about 9,200 words in ten parts.
Do I have to read the prequel at all?
No volume depends on it. It is a revelation, not homework: skip it and the trilogy stands on its own, read it third and Book 3 changes shape under you.
